Midea VRF Air Conditioning Melbourne
Midea VRF (variable refrigerant flow) systems connect multiple indoor units to one outdoor unit, so you can heat and cool many rooms or zones with individual control. EZYAIR designs, supplies and installs Midea VRF systems across Melbourne on request, for larger homes, apartments and commercial buildings.
Who a Midea VRF system suits
VRF suits buildings with many rooms that each need their own temperature control, such as large homes, villas, apartments, offices and retail spaces. For a few rooms, a multi split system may be simpler, and for whole home comfort through ducts see ducted reverse cycle air conditioning.
Current Midea VRF ranges
The following VRF outdoor unit ranges are listed on Midea Australia's VRF page at the time of writing (October 2026).
EZYAIR is an independent air conditioning installer. We supply and install the Midea VRF systems below on request; availability of individual models is confirmed at quote stage. Product information on this page is taken from Midea Australia's official VRF product pages and the official brochures hosted on midea.com/au. Figures are as published by the manufacturer (dash characters in ranges are shown as hyphens). Where a figure is not published it is not shown. Tables scroll sideways on smaller screens.
Midea V8 R32 Mini VRF (MV8M)
Midea lists the V8 R32 miniVRF outdoor units from 8 kW to 18 kW using R32 refrigerant. The brochure describes six single phase models from 8 kW to 18 kW with a compact size for commercial and residential applications such as small offices, villas and apartments, with 35 Pa static pressure as standard for installation on balconies. Three phase models from 12 kW to 18 kW are also listed in the brochure.

- M-Holmes: Optional M-Holmes technology (refrigerant shut-off device, alarm device and refrigerant leak sensor) provides timely detection, alarm and alert of refrigerant leaks.
- SuperSense: Up to 13 strategically-positioned sensors monitor the refrigerant pipeline, with virtual sensor technology as a backup in case of sensor failure.
- META 2.0: META 2.0 (Midea Evaporating Temperature Alteration) is Midea's triple-variable control technology, which Midea states increases system efficiencies by more than 28%.
- ZEN Air 2.0: ZEN Air 2.0 provides multiple adjustments for quiet operation, noise reduction, air filtration and sterilisation.
- Doctor m. 2.0: Doctor m. 2.0 uses a cloud-based platform to monitor the real-time operation status of each unit, predict potential malfunctions and recommend service, with an intelligent Bluetooth module and after-sales kit.

How we design and install a Midea VRF system
- Enquiry and site assessment. We discuss the rooms or zones to be heated and cooled, then assess the building, including room sizes, insulation, glazing, orientation and where the outdoor unit and pipework can go.
- System design and written quote. We select the Midea outdoor unit, indoor unit types and controls to suit the building and explain the options before you commit.
- Installation. Our team installs the outdoor and indoor units, refrigerant pipework, condensate drains and controls, and completes the electrical connection as required by Victorian regulations.
- Commissioning and handover. We test operation in every zone, set up the controllers and show you how to use the system.
- Ongoing service. Regular maintenance keeps a VRF system running efficiently. Ask us about a maintenance plan.
Manufacturer warranty
Warranty terms for Midea VRF systems are set by Midea Australia. We confirm the current warranty terms for the selected system in your written quote. Midea Australia customer care: Midea Australia support.
Victorian Energy Upgrades
EZYAIR is a Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) accredited provider (accreditation A2261). If you are replacing an older heater with an efficient reverse cycle system, ask us whether your project may be eligible for a VEU discount. Midea VRF FAQs
What is a VRF air conditioning system?
VRF (variable refrigerant flow) connects many indoor units to one outdoor unit or a group of outdoor modules, with the refrigerant flow varied to suit the demand in each zone. It suits larger homes, apartments, offices and commercial buildings that need individual control in many rooms.
Which Midea VRF range suits a large home or small office?
Midea's brochure describes the V8 R32 Mini VRF (8 kW to 18 kW) as suiting commercial and residential applications such as small offices, villas and apartments. The V8 Master VRF (25.2 kW to 61.5 kW per module) is aimed at larger buildings. We size the system after assessing the building.
How many indoor units can a Midea V8 Mini VRF connect?
Midea's brochure lists a maximum of 5 to 12 indoor units for the single phase models and 8 to 12 for the three phase models, depending on the outdoor unit, with total connected indoor capacity of 50% to 160% of the outdoor unit capacity.
Does EZYAIR install Midea VRF in Melbourne?
Yes. EZYAIR supplies and installs Midea VRF systems across metropolitan Melbourne on request. Contact us to discuss your home or building and arrange an assessment.
