EZYAIR provides professional multi-split system service and maintenance across metropolitan Melbourne. A multi-split system connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit, so each indoor unit needs regular maintenance to keep the whole system heating and cooling efficiently. We offer two services for multi-split systems: our Standard Preventive Maintenance Service and our Deep Clean Maintenance Service.

We service multi-split systems from other brands and installers, not only the systems we install. Book a multi-split service or call 1300 EZYAIR (1300 399 247).

Why regular multi-split system maintenance matters

Every air conditioner requires maintenance to ensure it is operating at optimal performance and efficiency. Regular maintenance:

  • removes bacteria, mould, pollen, dust and microbial matter from the air conditioner, reducing the chances of sickness
  • enables the air conditioner to operate at its maximum energy efficiency, saving on operating costs
  • removes dander and debris trapped inside the filtration system, which can ignite due to an electrical fault
  • eradicates odours such as mould and smoke, which can be a sign of a sick air conditioner
  • dislodges blockages in the drain, which can otherwise cause the air conditioner to backflow and flood

Scheduled maintenance is also a requirement of every manufacturer's warranty.

Standard Service or Deep Clean: which do you need?

EZYAIR offers two maintenance services for split and multi-split systems:

  • Standard Preventive Maintenance Service: our 28 point preventive maintenance service for regular, scheduled maintenance, covering the indoor unit, the outdoor unit, electrical and refrigerant checks, and recording of air temperatures. It suits systems that are serviced regularly and are in good condition.

  • Deep Clean Maintenance Service: a full sanitation and preventive maintenance service. The indoor unit is dismantled, the indoor coil is treated with an antifungal and antibacterial conditioner and flushed with a high pressure wash, and the barrel fan, drain and chassis are cleaned. It suits systems with odours, visible mould or dust build up, or systems that have not been serviced for some time.

We service multi-split systems from other brands and installers

You do not need to have had your multi-split system installed by EZYAIR to book a service. Our technicians maintain multi-split systems from other brands and installers, using the same maintenance checklist on every system.

Multi-split system service pricing

Our price list sets out Deep Clean pricing, including a discount for each additional unit serviced in the same booking, which also applies to multi-split indoor units. Parts warranty

EZYAIR warrants all new parts installed during service and maintenance work for a period of six (6) months from the date of service. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship of new parts only.

How often should a multi-split system be serviced?

As a general guide, EZYAIR recommends air conditioning maintenance every 400 working hours in a domestic environment, and every 200 working hours (or less) in a commercial environment, depending on the indoor air quality. Our team can recommend a schedule that suits how you use your system.

Signs your multi-split system needs a service

  • unpleasant or musty odours when the system starts
  • dust or visible mould on the filters or around the outlet of an indoor unit
  • water dripping from an indoor unit, which can indicate a blocked drain
  • weak airflow, or rooms that no longer reach the set temperature
  • unusual noise from an indoor unit or the outdoor unit
  • higher than usual energy use for the same level of comfort

If you notice any of these, contact our team to arrange a service.

Multi-split system service FAQs

What is the difference between a standard service and a deep clean?

The Standard Preventive Maintenance Service is our 28 point preventive maintenance service for regular, scheduled maintenance. The Deep Clean Maintenance Service is a full sanitation service: each indoor unit is dismantled, the coil is treated with an antifungal and antibacterial conditioner and flushed with a high pressure wash, and the barrel fan, drain and chassis are cleaned. The Deep Clean suits systems with odours, mould or dust build up, or systems that have not been serviced for some time.

What does the Standard Preventive Maintenance Service include?

The Standard Preventive Maintenance Service follows a 28 point checklist covering the particle filters, the indoor fan coil and drain, the condenser coil and fan, the indoor wiring terminal block, refrigerant leak checks, the isolator and insulation, the remote control and infrared sensor, and recording the return air temperature, supply air temperature and total heat exchange.

What does a multi-split Deep Clean include?

Every indoor unit receives the full Deep Clean checklist, covering the filters, indoor coil, barrel fan, drain and chassis, and the shared outdoor unit is serviced in the same visit, followed by a performance test in all modes.

Do you service every indoor unit?

Yes. With the Deep Clean, every indoor unit connected to your multi-split system receives the full checklist, as each one has its own filters, coil, fan and drain.

How often should I service my multi-split system?

As a general guide, we recommend maintenance every 400 working hours in a domestic environment, and every 200 working hours or less in a commercial environment, depending on indoor air quality.

How much does a multi-split service cost?

Pricing depends on the number of indoor units. Our price list includes a discount for each additional unit, including multi-split indoor units. View our maintenance price list (opens in a new tab). Prices are a guide; we confirm the exact price when you book.

Do you service multi-split systems you did not install?

Yes. We service multi-split systems from other brands and installers, not only systems installed by EZYAIR. Every system receives the same maintenance checklist.
