Who a Daikin multi split suits
Multi split systems suit Melbourne apartments, townhouses and homes with limited outdoor space, and homes that want to add rooms later within the capacity of the outdoor unit. Daikin Super Multi NX
Daikin's residential multi split system, using one outdoor unit to maintain comfort in up to five rooms. Indoor unit options include wall mounted, bulkhead, ducted and cassette types, each controlled individually.

How we install a Daikin multi split system in Melbourne
- Enquiry and assessment. We discuss the rooms you want to heat and cool, then assess the home, including room sizes, insulation, windows and orientation, and where the indoor and outdoor units can go.
- Recommendation and written quote. We recommend a Daikin multi split range and capacity that suits the home and explain the options before you commit.
- Installation. Our team installs the indoor and outdoor units, runs the refrigerant pipework and condensate drain, and completes the electrical connection as required by Victorian regulations.
- Commissioning and handover. We test heating and cooling operation, set up the controller and show you how to use the system and look after the filters.

Daikin multi split system FAQs
How many rooms can a Daikin multi split system serve?
Daikin states that Super Multi NX can serve up to five rooms from one outdoor unit, and VRV IV-S can connect as many as 14 indoor units. The exact number depends on the outdoor unit and the indoor units selected.
Can I mix wall mounted and ducted units on a Daikin multi split?
Yes. Daikin lists wall mounted, bulkhead, ducted and cassette indoor units for Super Multi NX, and bulkhead and ducted indoor units for VRV IV-S. We confirm compatible combinations when we design the system.
Is a multi split suitable for a Melbourne apartment?
Often, yes. Daikin notes that multi split systems suit apartments, townhouses and houses with limited outdoor space, because one outdoor unit serves several rooms. Body corporate approval may be needed for the outdoor unit location.
