Oakleigh Chargers take #1 draft pick for the AFL second year in a row.

Oakleigh Chargers have again proved themselves as the leading NAB Cup Club, with the #1 pick for the AFL in Jamarra Ugle-Hagan. This follows 2019 where the Chargers also provided the Australian Football League with the number #1 draftee, Matt Rowell.

This is a massive and unprecedented achievement in Australia. A feat only seen a few small times across world sport and has only occurred twice in the @NHL 1969/70, the @nba in 1955/56, the @nfl 1968/69, 18/19 the @cfl 1962/63/64/70/71.

Considering the regional demographic this is amazing. In 2019 the Chargers produced the #1 & #2 AFL draft picks and 2020 #1 and #3, with 6 players taken in the top 25.

A total of 13 players have been drafted from the 2019 Premiership list, with hopefully a few more to go. There has also been numerous that have moved onto VFL and SANFL lists.
